Cirque Theatre Company and Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics presents, The Grinch.
This fantastic production uses a dynamic fusion of drama, dance, music, gymnastics, and cirque-like storytelling to relay the captivating tale of a little WHOboy who gets rejected for being different. Over time his hurt grows into bitterness, anger and resentment. Eventually he gets to the point where he plans his revenge: to ruin Christmas for all! This athletic and artistic endeavour has been creatively crafted to captivate young and old alike.

Review of the show by a local newcomer to Vernon
WOW! Newer to Vernon, I attended my first production by the ORGC and
Cirque Theatre Company last night at the Performing Arts Center (the
I was blown away at the high caliber of talent that was showcased. It
was outstanding! The stage, the props, the colours, the outfits, the
music, the choreography, and the DANCERS!
The extended story of the Grinch was so creative and the parts portrayed
from the original story were so accurate (from the depiction of the
Grinch’s heart being two sizes too small, the Who noise makers, the Who
table where they were eating the roast beast, to the Grinch slithering
along the living room floor of the Who house to get the Christmas tree).
The show instilled in me an array of emotions too, from sadness/sympathy
for the rejected young Grinch to laughing until the point of tears when
the big Grinch was picking his nose! At the end of the show, I realized
I had been smiling for two hours straight. Even through the sad
portions, I was still smiling in awe at the talent.
Growing up as a competitive gymnast (not rhythmic), I could appreciate
the hard work the performers went through to put on this
production…along with the ALL the production people and everyone else
listed in the program bulletin.
Finally, as a huge fan of Christmas (and all the festive activities it
entails), I really enjoyed seeing this production. It was a perfect way
to spend a winter night in the Christmas season.
THANK YOU to everyone who made that production possible. I look forward
to attending future events from the ORGC and Cirque Theatre Company!
